Proposed Millage Rate Details

The City Manager is requesting a public hearing to approve Resolution 2026-15. This resolution establishes the tentative operating millage rate for the fiscal year ending in 2027. Staff recommends setting the rate at 2.5160 mills, which matches the computed aggregate rolled-back rate.

Budget and Hearing Timeline

An updated General Fund Budget Projection presented on August 10th 2026 supports presenting the tentative budget at the rolled-back rate. The commission cannot exceed the tentative operating millage rate during subsequent final hearings. Any revisions to the tentative rates or budget will be addressed during those later sessions.

Next Steps and Advertising Requirements

Final Millage and Final Budget Hearings are scheduled for September 28th at 6:30 p.m. Staff recommends the commission authorize newspaper advertising in a publication of general circulation. This advertising must declare the city intent to hold public hearings to adopt final rates in compliance with Florida Statute 200.065.
