Winter Springs City Commission to Review Tentative Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget

Budget Overview and Fund Allocations

The City Manager has requested that the commission hold a public hearing to consider Resolution 2026-16. This resolution establishes the tentative budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2026, and ending Sept. 30, 2027.

The proposed expenditures by fund type include $27,006,957 for the General Fund. Additional allocations cover Other Governmental Funds and Enterprise Funds. Staff recommends the commission approve or amend the tentative budget as necessary.

Approval Process and Statutory Requirements

If approved, the commission will authorize the city to advertise its intent to hold public hearings for the final millage rate and final budget. The advertisement must include a budget summary in a newspaper of general circulation per Florida Statute.

Next Steps and Public Hearings

Any subsequent revisions to the tentative budget or millage rate will be addressed during future hearings. These final hearings are scheduled for Sept. 28, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
