Winter Springs families planning for the 2027–28 school year can review Seminole County Public Schools’ middle- and high-school magnet options during an on-time application period listed for Oct. 1 through Dec. 1, 2026. The same window applies to high-school Program of Emphasis transfers.

The district’s online application portal lists those programs as available for the 2027–28 school year. Families should select that school-year section and follow the district’s instructions.

The district’s published timeline lists notifications for Jan. 6–15, 2027. Elementary magnet applications follow a different on-time schedule, Jan. 1 through March 1, 2027.

For International Baccalaureate applicants, the district says students zoned for Hagerty, Lake Howell, Oviedo or Winter Springs high schools may apply only to the IB program at Winter Springs High School. It also warns that placement in a magnet program overrides a Program of Emphasis application and causes that application to be withdrawn.

Families can find application instructions, program links and the full timeline on the district’s Student Assignment & Program Access page. Questions can be sent to SCPSChoices@scps.us. Students enrolling in their regular zoned school do not need a school-choice application.
