Seminole County permit systems go dark Oct. 14 as new OneStop portal replaces them

County permitting, planning and code enforcement move to one online account on Oct. 19; old logins will not carry over, and inspections must be booked by phone or email during the switch.

Anyone with a building permit, development project or code enforcement case in Seminole County's online systems has about a week and a half to wrap up time-sensitive business before those systems shut off for a cutover to a single new portal.

The county announced Friday that Seminole County OneStop will launch Oct. 19, pulling planning, permitting, addressing, code enforcement, engineering review of development and city impact fee statements into a single online system. The current systems go offline at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14.

The switchover

From Oct. 15 through Oct. 18, county staff will move active permits, projects and cases into the new system. Inspections will still happen during those four days, but with the online tools down they have to be scheduled by email at BPCustomerService@seminolecountyfl.gov. The county's Citizens Information Line, 407-665-0000, will take general questions.

The county is asking customers to save copies of their active records before the systems go offline, such as each permit's current status, payment history, comments from plan reviewers and the dates of past and scheduled inspections.

Everyone starts a new account

Usernames and passwords from the old systems will not move over, so every customer will need to set up a OneStop account, starting Oct. 19. Contractors can create one account and give access to staff who handle projects for them. Owner-builders need their own accounts.

Customers whose permits or projects were active at some point in the last five years will get a personal identification number by email, along with instructions for linking their existing records to the new account. Those with no email on file, or whose email bounces, will get the PIN in a letter, which the county warns may take longer to arrive.

Changes for inspections

Once OneStop is live, Building Division inspections can be booked online, with an option to ask for a morning or afternoon visit. The county says it will try to honor those preferences but cannot promise a time window. Requests must be in by 3:30 p.m. the business day before the inspection.

Customers will be able to leave notes for the inspector and, the morning an inspection is due, see who has been assigned and how to reach them.

Questions about plans can go to PlanDesk@seminolecountyfl.gov, and code enforcement questions to CE_Clerk@seminolecountyfl.gov.
