Two recurring city events give Winter Springs families something to do outdoors in the first weekends of October.
The city's Parks and Recreation staff will help children ages 5 to 12 fish at Central Winds Park, 1000 Central Winds Drive, on Saturday mornings, Oct. 3 and Oct. 10, from 7 to 9 a.m. Poles and bait are provided, according to the city's calendar.
Each session costs $5 for residents and $10 for non-residents.
The Winter Springs Farmers Market sets up at Trotwood Park, 701 Northern Way, on the first and third Sundays of each month. The next market is Sunday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Vendors sell produce, plants, honey, jams, breads, baked goods and hummus, along with crafts and other goods, the city says.
