UCF’s women’s soccer team returns Friday to a venue where it has yet to lose this season, with No. 17 Colorado standing between the Knights and their first Big 12 victory.
The Oct. 2 match begins at 7 p.m. Eastern at the UCF Soccer Complex and will stream on ESPN+. UCF enters 5-3-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play after losing 3-1 at BYU and 2-0 at Utah. The Knights are 3-0-1 at home, according to Colorado’s match preview.
Friday also brings a rematch of last season’s Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal. Colorado won that meeting 3-2, leaving UCF without a victory in the teams’ two previous encounters. Their first match, played in Boulder in 2024, ended scoreless. This will be Colorado’s first visit to Orlando.
The Buffaloes arrive with an 8-2-1 overall record and a 2-1-0 conference mark. Their five-match winning streak ended Sunday in a 3-1 loss at Texas Tech. Colorado had opened league play with victories over Iowa State and West Virginia and has six points from its first three conference matches.
Colorado’s road record is 2-2-1, with both defeats coming against ranked opponents. The Buffaloes have scored 28 goals in 11 matches. Even in the loss at Texas Tech, they recorded 18 shots, including nine on target.
UCF’s home return comes after a road stretch that also cost the Knights their place in the national Top 25. The program had appeared in the poll in four weeks this season and reached No. 13, its highest position since 2017. UCF’s latest preview lists the team at No. 46 in the NCAA’s RPI.
