The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the visiting Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa. The home team dominated the scoring, outshooting their opponents and capitalizing on key chances to extend their lead. Attendance for the matchup was 19,092.

Early Momentum Shifts

The Flyers remained scoreless in the first frame. In the second period, Pontus Holmberg extended the Lightning's advantage with a wrist shot goal, making the score 2-0. Assists on that goal went to Ilya Mikheyev and Zemgus Girgensons.

Philadelphia finally found the back of the net in the second period when Tyson Foerster scored a wrist shot goal, assisted by Nick Seeler and Sean Couturier. This goal cut the deficit to 2-1.

Third Period Decisive

The third period proved decisive for the Lightning. Ilya Mikheyev scored a wrap-around goal to increase Tampa Bay's lead to 3-1. The assist was credited to Pontus Holmberg.

Later in the frame, Brandon Hagel added a wrist shot goal to seal the 4-1 victory. Nikita Kucherov provided the assist on Hagel's goal. Mikheyev finished the game with one goal and one assist for two points.

Kucherov recorded two assists. For Philadelphia, Tyson Foerster scored the team's only goal and was credited with one point. Nick Seeler recorded one assist.

The Lightning controlled the ice and converted their chances efficiently to take the win.
