Tampa Bay will be without receiver Jalen McMillan for at least four games after placing him on injured reserve Wednesday, Sept. 30. The Buccaneers also moved safety Ifeatu Melifonwu onto their active roster and added quarterback Brett Rypien to the practice squad.

The team said McMillan left Sunday’s game against Minnesota with a knee injury and did not return to that game.

Melifonwu had played in Tampa Bay’s first three games through temporary elevations from the practice squad. Having used all three permitted elevations, he needed an active-roster spot to keep appearing in games.

Rypien’s arrival gives Tampa Bay another quarterback while Baker Mayfield is unavailable. The club said rookie Jalon Daniels will start and Easton Stick is expected to serve as the main backup. Rypien has four NFL starts and 11 regular-season appearances.
