Samuel Bailey, a four-star offensive lineman, has committed to the Florida Gators for the 2028 recruiting class. Bailey told Gators Online about his decision, giving Florida its third commitment in the class.
The group also includes four-star wide receiver Armani Strong and four-star safety Cyion Smith. Bailey attends Jemison High School in Huntsville, Alabama, and is listed at 6 feet, 5.5 inches and 300 pounds.
Bailey selected Florida while holding scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Georgia, Clemson and Oklahoma. Rivals ranks him 23rd nationally among 2028 prospects, fourth among offensive tackles and first in Alabama.
He recently returned to Gainesville for Florida’s game against Ole Miss. The visit followed two trips during the offseason and gave Bailey another chance to see the program and its home-game environment.
Bailey said the game’s intensity and Florida’s physical play influenced his view of the program. He also cited his relationship with offensive line coach Phil Trautwein, saying the coach’s emphasis on physicality, accountability and control of the position group appealed to him.
