The Miami Dolphins will be without running back De'Von Achane for the rest of the 2026 season after he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to information reported by sports.yahoo.com.

Achane injured his knee during the opening quarter of Miami's 24-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Miami Gardens, Florida. Sources provided details about the injury to ESPN, NFL Network and The Athletic on Monday.

The running back signed a four-year, $64 million contract extension in May. During the previous season, he produced a career-best 1,838 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns in 16 starts, earning his first Pro Bowl selection. He had missed only one game across the prior two seasons.

Ollie Gordon II handled the primary replacement role against Kansas City, finishing with 55 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown on 20 touches. Jaylen Wright did not play because of a stinger and a foot injury, while wide receiver Malik Washington also received work in the backfield. Jarquez Hunter and Carlos Washington Jr. are listed as the team's practice-squad running backs.

Miami is 0-3 and is scheduled to play the 3-0 Minnesota Vikings at 4:05 p.m. EDT Sunday in Minneapolis. Further details about Achane's recovery were not provided.
