The Dolphins placed running back De’Von Achane on injured reserve after a torn ACL ended his season, while also making roster changes involving three defensive linemen.
Keith Cooper Jr. was waived from Miami’s active roster. Clelin Ferrell and Jordan Miller were released from the practice squad. The moves were included in the NFL’s official transactions report released Sept. 28, according to sports.yahoo.com.
Cooper had appeared in each of the Dolphins’ first three games and recorded one tackle. The 23-year-old is listed at 6 feet 5 inches and 285 pounds. He is in his second season after going undrafted and previously played college football at Tulane and Houston. Cooper also appeared in one regular-season game for the Cleveland Browns in 2025.
If Cooper clears waivers, he could potentially return to the Dolphins’ practice squad, although his next move was not yet clear in the report.
Ferrell, 29, also played in Miami’s first three games and finished with three tackles. The former Clemson player was selected fourth overall by the Raiders in 2019 and has since played for the 49ers, Commanders and Chargers. Because he had been elevated from the practice squad for three games, he would have needed an active-roster contract to play again during the regular season.
