Winter Springs holiday food drive sets two drop-off sites starting Oct. 20

The police department will collect holiday meal staples through Nov. 20 at City Hall and the police station, with weekday drop-off hours.

Winter Springs residents can help stock holiday meals for local families through a police department food drive scheduled for Oct. 20 through Nov. 20.

The city lists two donation sites: City Hall, 1126 E. State Road 434, and the Winter Springs Police Department, 300 N. Moss Road. Both accept drop-offs Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., local time.

Organizers invite donors to bring a paper grocery bag filled with suggested foods or contribute what they can. The list includes instant mashed potatoes, canned green beans and corn, cream of mushroom soup, fried onions, stuffing, cornbread or biscuit mix, gravy packets, canned yams, marshmallows, brown sugar and cake or brownie supplies.

The drive is scheduled to begin Oct. 20. The city’s calendar listing provides the full suggested shopping list and drop-off details.
