UCF faces No. 20 Houston on Saturday, October 3, with an opportunity to end a run of 10 consecutive road losses. The Knights’ first Big 12 away game of the season begins at noon Eastern at TDECU Stadium and airs on ESPN2.
Both teams are 3–1 overall. UCF is 1–0 in conference play after beating TCU 21–13 on September 26; Houston enters at 0–1 in the Big 12.
The Knights’ defense supplied four takeaways, four sacks and eight tackles for loss against TCU. The Horned Frogs finished with 33 rushing yards. Those are single-game figures, rather than UCF’s season totals.
Through its first four games, UCF has outscored opponents 73–15 after halftime and collected six interceptions overall, according to the program’s game notes. The Houston trip puts that second-half performance alongside a separate challenge: winning away from home.
