Seminole County Public Schools placed second among Florida districts in Niche’s 2027 rankings, moving up one spot from last year, the district announced Oct. 8.
Niche lists the district, which serves Winter Springs, second among 68 Florida districts and first among three in its Orlando Area category. Its overall grade is A.
Superintendent Serita D. Beamon credited teachers, school staff, students, families and community partners for the result in the district’s announcement.
Academics account for half of Niche’s district score. Other factors include teachers, culture and diversity, parent and student surveys, facilities, clubs and activities, and sports. The rankings describe the district overall; they do not establish that every campus offers the same experience.
Niche changed the source of public-school proficiency data for the 2027 edition, moving to state-level sources. The change in rank alone should not be read as a direct measure of year-over-year academic improvement.
For Winter Springs families exploring academic options, Winter Springs High School will host an International Baccalaureate Magnet Night Oct. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. in its media center at 130 Tuskawilla Road. The school’s IB page has details about the program.
