Maxime Crépeau did not just steal a result. He rewrote the Orlando City record book while Columbus spent the night inventing chances.

The Canadian goalkeeper made a club-record 12 saves Saturday at Inter.co Stadium, surpassing the previous single-match mark of 11 that Mason Stajduhar set and that Crépeau himself had matched in the season opener against the New York Red Bulls.

Behind that wall, Iván Angulo's 89th-minute finish completed a 3-2 win that snapped Orlando's three-game losing streak across all competitions and handed the Crew its first MLS defeat after three straight league wins.

Orlando City moved to 11-13-4 and 37 points. Columbus fell to 8-15-5 and 29. The scoreline flattered the Lions. The shot chart did not.

Twelve stops under a Columbus barrage

The Mane Land's full-time ledger had Columbus ahead in possession (52.1% to 47.9%), shots (26-20), shots on target (14-8) and corners (11-2). Crépeau was the difference between that pressure and a loss that would have deepened Orlando's October hole.

He denied Josef Martínez with a foot save in the 19th minute after Brais Méndez slipped the veteran through, per The Mane Land. Early in the second half he turned away Dylan Chambost and Anass Zaroury in the same sequence.

Later he smothered a Gonzalo Tapia blast into his midsection and made another stop on Tapia in the 89th minute that immediately preceded the counter that won the match. Even after Angulo's winner, Crépeau took one more - André Gomes from the top of the area in stoppage time - before the whistle.

"Very happy with the three points," Crépeau said afterward, per the club. "We know how crucial the points are from now until the end of the year. It's going to be super important to continue putting in strong performances, especially at home, with three of our next four matches here."

The Associated Press led with Angulo's go-ahead goal and Griezmann's contribution, then noted Crépeau's 12 saves in the same sentence. The club's match notes put the save total first among the night's milestones for a reason: without it, the late winner never became three points.

Lead, lose it, lead, lose it, then steal it

Harvey Sarajian needed 46 seconds of his first MLS start to open the scoring, finishing Antoine Griezmann's cross after Iván Angulo's cutback - the third-fastest goal in club history, Orlando City said. Taha Habroune leveled in the seventh minute.

Griezmann restored the lead in the 16th with a curling free kick for his 10th goal in all competitions since joining the club and extended a run of goal contributions to eight straight MLS matches.

Méndez rounded Crépeau and equalized again in the 53rd. Orlando looked finished until Angulo and Martín Ojeda worked a late give-and-go: Angulo wide to Ojeda, Ojeda back into the box, Angulo slotting the 89th-minute winner. The goal was Angulo's fifth consecutive MLS match with a goal, tying Griezmann's club single-season scoring streak, and his sixth of the league season, a career high.

Crépeau's night was the scaffolding under all of it. Columbus created the better looks; Orlando left with the points.

Interim coach Martín Perelman framed the result in playoff language after the match, telling The Mane Land the three points mattered most at this stage and that the group now turns to the next one. That next one is Wednesday at Toronto FC, 7:30 p.m. ET on Apple TV, the start of a compressed stretch that still has Orlando sitting in the Eastern Conference conversation.

A club-record save total in a must-get-points home win is the night Crépeau put his name on. The Lions needed every one of the 12.
