Seminole County voters planning to vote on Election Day, Nov. 3, should check where their precinct votes before they go: 14 polling places have closed since the 2024 election, including one in Winter Springs, according to the county Supervisor of Elections office.

On Election Day, voters must go to the polling place for their assigned precinct. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and voters need a valid photo and signature ID, the office says.

The Winter Springs change

Precinct 46 no longer votes at Temple Israel, 50 S. Moss Road. Its new polling place is the Winter Springs Senior Center, 400 N. Edgemon Ave.

Four Oviedo precincts also moved: Precinct 70 to the Oviedo Gym & Aquatic Facility, Precinct 75 to Faith Outreach Church, Precinct 77 to Lutheran Haven Fellowship Hall and Precinct 79 to Oviedo Presbyterian Church. The remaining changes are in Lake Mary, Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Fern Park and Winter Park, and the full list of old and new locations is posted on the office's website.

Three of the moves came after the August primary, in Precincts 39, 51 and 55, all of which had used Altamonte Springs locations. Oviedo Community News reported that 12 of the 14 closures were churches that stopped offering space, and that voters in the changed precincts have been mailed new voter information cards.

Signs will be posted at the old sites on Election Day to point voters to the new ones, the outlet reported.

"We want every voter to know exactly where to vote before Election Day," Amy Pennock, the county's elections supervisor, said, according to Oviedo Community News. She also asked churches, civic groups and other facilities interested in hosting future polling places to contact her office.

A Seminole County Democratic Party volunteer told the outlet that some voters went to the wrong location during the primary and called for better communication about the changes.

Other ways to vote

Early voting continues through Sunday, Nov. 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at any county early voting site, regardless of precinct. The office lists 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, as the deadline to request a mail ballot for the general election; requests can be made online or by calling 407-585-8683.

Voters can find their precinct and polling place with the office's interactive map at voteseminole.dolphmap.com.
